Who We Are...
Helmets On is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization that promotes youth fitness and cycling through bicycle motocross (BMX). We offer the inner-city youth of Grand Rapids an opportunity to gain confidence and sportsmanship through racing BMX. And now with our indoor facility in Greenville we intend to have the same impact on the youth of that community as well. Not only do they find a healthy and fun way to spend their time, they build relationships with their families and some mentoring relationships are evolving.
We provide scholarships to kids who are unable to afford the yearly memberships and BMX bikes. We also offer ways for the kids to help out at the track to earn track bucks (essentially coupons that will have cash value at the BMX track and a local supporting bike shops). In 2010 we supported 8 local youth with annual memberships, bicycles and safety gear.
Helmets On Inc. is helping to keep the kids of Grand Rapids and Greenville 'on track' with a fun and exciting sporting alternative.
